I invest in tomorrow’s businesses. They are sustainable and profitable.

Invest in green impact startups

One of the most effective ways to pave the way for sustainable business practices is to invest in climate startups and businesses that pioneer new platforms, products and services. These businesses are ultimately commercial, but much better for planetary health.

Tomorrow’s capitalism is commercial, environmentally responsible, profitable, ethical, social, transparent and shows a great deal of leadership.

1: How we make things (manufacturing creates 31% of global greenhouse-gas emissions). New materials, cleaner production, waste minimisation, carbon capture.

Businesses that work with nature, not against it.

Green companies aren’t just the ones that reduce or track CO2, they include all the companies that produce tomorrow’s version of a platform, product or service. All products, in all industries, will be replaced by a green alternative.

My areas of interest are those that support biodiversity, nature conservation and the future of living, such as

  • Green urban living and urban biodiversity such as vertical farms, green roofs etc.

  • Sustainable material usage and companies that turn waste into assets, for example in interior design products.

  • Production that protect forests, biodiversity and natural resources, such as alternative income streams for forest owners and products from certified wood

  • Ocean preservation products and methods

  • Sustainable platforms

  • Co-living and micro-living products and platforms

Rockstart Agrifood and Energy

Through my board position in Rockstart I get to be closely involved with our two funds in Energy and Agrifood. The newest fund, the Energy fund was launched in 2020, shortly after the 2019 launch of Rockstart Agrifood Fund, 1 which has invested in around 20 interesting new technologies in farming and food production. Together the two funds invest around €50M in new green technology startups.
